Contemporary Art and World Civilization Department’s new acquisition ‘I Paint Circles 26’, by Rafi Haq, oil on paper, 86X65 sq cm, accession No.

BNM’s Collection Management Section has acquired a total of 78 specimens in the month of October. This new collection includes 26 silver, copper and iron coins of different eras, one lekhmala or script, one contemporary artwork, six rare clothes, one textile art work, two porcelain works, and 20 and 17 personal memorial objects respectively of litterateur Abdul Karim Sahitya Bisharad and film maker Chashi Nazrul Islam. Coins have been received as gifts from Dr. Mahbuba Siddiqui, Dr. Sheesh Mohammad Mohiuddin Masud, Md. Ali Miah, Sufia Begum and Md. Nurul Islam. Five different attires and one textile art, and one ceramic work were gifted by Director General of BNM Faizul Latif Chowdhury. One attire was given to the BNM by administrative officer Abdul Kuddus and a ceramic piece was gifted by Muhammad Alam of Narail. The script and the painting were respectively received from district administrator of Chapai Nawabganj and artist Rafi Haq. Dr. Nehal Karim and Jotsna Kazi gifted the articles belonging to Abdul Karim Shaitya Bisharad and Chashi Nazrul Islam.

Additionally, BNM has collected documents on the liberation war and other historical events during the month of October.
