‘Aditi Mohsin leaves her audience spellbound’
October 20, 2017, saw the noted Tagore song exponent Aditi Mohsin enthralling the audience at BNM’s Kabi Sufia Kamal auditorium. She spread her spell over the audience by rendering some of the most enduring songs by Tagore chosen from various categories. Beginning with the puja numbers or songs of invocation, she slowly eased into other category songs such as khyal and those that comes under the themes of love and nature. She also rendered some of the patriotic songs.
Abul Khair Litu, Chairman of Bengal Foundation, was chief guest at the function. Senior Secretary Hedayetullah Al Mamun gave the welcome address while Director General of BNM Faizul Latif Chowdhury chaired the session.
Speaking as chief guest, Abul Khair said Aditi Mohsin leaves her audience spellbound. She makes it difficult for the audience to leave before the end. Hedayetullah Al Mamun said it is due to vocalist of Aditi’s caliber that Tagore will remain forever etched in our minds.
Aditi Mohsin completed her graduation and post-graduation from Visva Bharati, India. During her study she trained under Kanika Banerjee, Nilima Sen, Shantidev Ghosh, the illustrious Tagore song exponents of the subcontinent. Aditi also trained under the auspicious guidance of Swastika Banerjee and Mohan Sing.
Aditi has to her credit five albums produced by Bengal Foundation. There are additional three albums that came out in India. For her contribution to music she has been decorated with Debobrata Memorial Award, Ananya Best Ten award, Citycell Channel I Award, Symphony Channel I Award etc.
